CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS PROJECT

Bethany Stevens, a Junior at Creek, presented her platform for childhood cancer awareness to hundreds of students from Texas Association of Student Council’s District 13 at our meeting on Monday.  Her work this year included developing events that collected over $2,000 worth of toys, PJs, blankets, etc. for patients at Texas Children’s Hospital and Team Cypress Strong (a group of 22 students who suffer from cancer in our district).  Bethany also designated a day where students could wear PJ pants in honor of childhood cancer patients if they donated money, which resulted in $500 being given on behalf of Creek’s Student Council to Texas Children’s Childhood Cancer wing. We thank all of the staff members and clubs at Creek who have helped us with these efforts over the past few months!
