FFA Leadership Competition

Congratulations to the FFA Leadership Development Teams that competed at the District LDE contest yesterday at the Berry Center. 
The Senior Chapter Conducting team consisting of Jennifer Conner-Richardson, Meagan Miller, Abby Jones, Jacob Shafer, Madison Luker, and Sarah Beavers; placed third missing Area by 1 placing! The Radio Broadcasting team consisting of Adam Resendez, Paul Rollins, and Noah Watson placed 5th. Nick Pnina Placed 7th in the Senior Creed Speaking division. Jadyn Prentice also competed in the Job Interview Contest. Please congratulate all these students in their achievements at the competition!

 

Signing Day

Congratulations to our athletes who celebrated Signing Day on November 8, 2017, where they signed letters of intent to play college level sports.

Megan DeRouen signed with the University of Houston for Cross Country and Cadey Jones signed with the University of Texas of the Permian Basin for Volleyball. Congratulations to these athletes who have worked hard to achieve their goals!

GIRLS WIN STATE WATERPOLO CHAMPIONSHIP FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR

The Cypress Creek High School girls’ water polo team defeated St. Agnes, 10-6, on May 6 in Lewisville to clinch its second consecutive TISCA state championship.

It marked the seventh all-time championship for the Cougars, who defeated Southlake Carroll in the 2016 championship. They faced Carroll again in the 2017 semifinal round on May 6, edging the Dragons 12-11 after trailing by 6 entering the fourth period. Cypress Creek had previously beaten Marcus (20-8) and Dawson (14-1) in first- and second-round action on May 5.

“This team stayed with their game plan all year. Whether being up by 10 or down by 6, these girls never quit on each other,” said Jeff Chandler, Cypress Creek head coach. “I am so proud of these girls and honored to be able to experience this tremendous task of going back to back.”

Chandler won TISCA Girls’ Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.

In the boys’ state tournament, Jersey Village High School placed third overall after defeating Southlake Carroll, 10-9, in the third-place game. The Falcons previously earned wins against Denton Guyer (10-6) and Brazoswood (10-4) before losing to eventual champion St. Marks, 12-4, in the semifinal.

GIRLS GOLF FINISHES 3RD AT DISTRICT

Girls Varsity Golf finished 3^rd place at District competition on April 5^th and 6^th.  Players included:

• Amanda Billings, 
• Hannah Felske, 
• Julia Iverson, 
• Tyler James, and 
• Katherine Solgere.  

Tyler James finished 10^th in District qualifying her for the “First Team All District”.  All 5 players also qualified for “Academic All District Team”

Additionally, Darcy Randall finished 3^rd place at the Junior Varsity Golf District Competition?

HOLA TEAMS EARNS 1ST IN ACADEMICS AND COMMUNITY SERVICE

The Cypress Creek High School HOLA team sponsored by  Mr. William Bozic and Mrs. Frida Cuellar has earned 1st Place in Academics and 1st Place in Community Service for the entire HOLA program in Cy-Fair ISD.
