Eight CFISD students have qualified for the UIL Class 6A Academic State Meet to be held on May 26-28 at the University of Texas at Austin.
These students from Cypress Creek, Cypress Ranch, Cypress Springs and Cypress Woods high schools have advanced through both the district competition in March and regional competition in April to earn their spot at the academic state championship.
To qualify for the state meet, students placed first, second or third at the UIL Region III-6A Academic Meet, held at Cypress Woods High School April 24-25.
Students who participate in the UIL Academic State Meet during any year of high school may apply as seniors for a dedicated pool of scholarship funds through the Texas Interscholastic League Foundation. TILF encourages academically talented students to stay in Texas when pursuing higher education. TILF will disburse more than $1 million to more than 600 students during a typical year to attend colleges and universities throughout Texas.
