FIVE SOCCER TEAMS ADVANCE IN PLAYOFFS

Two boys’ and three girls’ soccer teams won their Region III-6A bi-district playoff games last week to advance to the area playoff round this week.
In the boys’ playoffs, Jersey Village High School defeated Aldine MacArthur, 2-0, on March 24 at the Berry Center. The Falcons will meet Seven Lakes High School on April 1 at 6 p.m. at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road).
Cypress Lakes High School eliminated Aldine, 3-1, in overtime on March 24 at Thorne Stadium. The Spartans will meet Katy Tompkins on April 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Tompkins High School (4400 Falcon Landing Blvd.).
Cypress Ranch and Cypress Springs high schools each ended their respective seasons on March 24. The Mustangs lost to Aldine Davis, 3-0, at Tomball High School, ending the year as third-place district finishers and bi-district finalists. The Panthers fell to Nimitz, 2-1, at Thorne Stadium, ending the year as fourth-place district finishers and bi-district finalists.

In the girls’ playoffs, Cypress Woods High School beat Aldine Eisenhower, 10-2, on March 24 at the Berry Center. The Wildcats will face Tompkins on April 1 at 5:30 p.m. at Tompkins High School.
Cypress Ranch High School shut out Aldine MacArthur, 4-0, on March 24 at Thorne Stadium. The Mustangs will meet Katy Taylor on April 1 at 8 p.m. at the Berry Center.
Cypress Creek High School defeated Aldine, 2-0, on March 24 at Morton Ranch High School. The Cougars will play Katy Seven Lakes on April 1 at 6 p.m. at Rhodes Stadium (1733 Katy Fort Bend Road) in Katy.
The Cy-Fair High School girls’ team ended its season in a 3-0 loss to Memorial on March 24 at the Berry Center. The Bobcats were fourth-place finishers in District 17-6A and bi-district finalists.
