CY CREEK EARNS PLAYOFF SPOT; BASEBALL PLAYOFFS START MAY 6


The Cy Creek Cougars celebrate earning a playoff spot. 
The District 17-6A baseball season wrapped up on April 29 with four teams qualifying for the University Interscholastic League (UIL) playoffs.
Cy-Fair High School clinched the district championship with a 15-2 record, while Langham Creek and Cypress Ranch high schools tied for second at 13-4. Langham Creek won the No. 2 seed tiebreaker after defeating Cypress Ranch in district play. Cypress Creek High School was the fourth-place finisher at 11-6.
The Region III-6A bi-district playoffs will start Friday, May 6 with the following best-of-three series:
  • Cy-Fair vs. Aldine MacArthur
    • Game 1 – May 6 at 7 p.m. at Lansford Field (1865 Aldine Bender Road);
    • Game 2 – May 7 at noon at Cy-Fair High School (22602 Northwest Freeway); and
    • Game 3, if necessary – 30 minutes after Game 2.
  • Langham Creek vs. Aldine Nimitz
    • Game 1 – May 6 at 4 p.m. at Langham Creek High School (17610 FM 529);
    • Game 2 – May 7 at 10 a.m. at Aldine Davis High School (12525 Ella Blvd.); and
    • Game 3, if necessary – 30 minutes after Game 2.
  • Cypress Ranch vs. Aldine Davis
    • Game 1 – May 6 at 7 p.m. at Aldine Davis High School;
    • Game 2 – May 7 at 1 p.m. at Cypress Ranch High School (10700 Fry Road); and
    • Game 3, if necessary – 30 minutes after Game 2.
  • Cypress Creek vs. Spring Branch Memorial
    • Game 1 – May 6 at 7 p.m. at Cypress Creek High School (9815 Grant Road);
    • Game 2 – May 7 at noon at Memorial High School (935 Echo Lane); and
    • Game 3, if necessary – 30 minutes after Game 2.

Tickets for all games will be sold at the gate for $5 apiece (students and adults).
